SASDF - Skills Development and Training
SASDF is the NPC which was formed as a vehicle to implement new national skills development strategy (NSDS III) that was issued by the Department of Higher Education and Training, January 2011.
The key driving force of the NSDS III for South Africa is improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the skills development system. The emphasis is particularly on those who do not have relevant technical skills to enable them to access employment.
The strategy promotes partnerships between employers, public education institutions (FET colleges, universities of technologies and universities), private training providers, NPC, civic organizations and SETAs, to ensure that cross-sectoral and inter-sectoral needs are addressed.

SASDF provides multi-sector Skills Development and Training through its affiliated accredited training providers. We provide SETA accredited course content across the respective fields. This NPC was founded in 2021 during the hush COVID period which left many households unemployed. SASDF seeks to help our communities through skills training programmes to ensure positive impact on poverty reduction and the eradication of inequalities. The intention is to ensure that 2 000 artisans per year qualify with relevant skills and find employment.
Mission
- To empower women and youth with technical and practical skills through accredited trainings and provide post training support and help them to create their cooperatives and small business.
- To facilitate collaboration between private sector, public sector, and civic organizations with the purpose of increasing the supply of skilled citizens.
